Hematite is a common oxide mineral in iron ore. When the iron content exceeds 70%, it can be produced in large quantities and is an important iron ore. It is widely distributed in various rocks and is often produced together with magnetite. In addition to ironmaking, powdered hematite is also used as red pigment and abrasive. The application of hematite often requires beneficiation. The following are the specific steps for processing hematite by magnetic separation:
1. Hematite Crushing
Here, jaw crusher, cone crusher, vibrating feeder and vibrating screen are needed for coarse crushing. The raw hematite ore is evenly fed to the jaw crusher through the vibrating feeder for crushing, and then finely crushed by the cone crusher. The crushed ore is screened by the vibrating screen for particle size separation. The ore larger than 13mm is further crushed for 3 times, and the ore smaller than 13mm is sent to the floor drain through the conveyor.
2. Hematite Grinding
After the crushed hematite enters the silo, it is evenly fed to the ball mill by the electromagnetic vibrating feeder for high-fine grinding. After grinding, it is sent to the ore pool through the pipeline. The mortar pump sends the ore in the ore pool to the hydrocyclone for ore separation and screening. The coarse ore continues to enter the hematite ball mill for further grinding, and the concentrate is sent to the magnetic separator through the pipeline for magnetic separation.
3. Hematite magnetic separation
The hematite separated by the magnetic separator enters the magnetic separator for rough separation, and then enters the magnetic separator for scavenging. The tailings then enter the tailings pool through the pipeline, and the separated concentrate directly enters the concentrate pool.
4. Hematite Drying
After the desired minerals are separated, they must be initially concentrated by a concentrator because they contain a lot of water, and then dried by a hematite dryer to obtain dry iron minerals.
